Night driving

Hi everybody I am a former fedex driver of 3 years and left a couple months ago to become a high school teacher now i got offered a job for summer driving over night and i talked to there day drivers and my salary is the same as there so my question is should i aspect to get paid more for working over night

There's no company I know of that has a pay differential between day and night driving,its just part of the job,last year after 28 years of working exclusively at night I scored a daytime bid,its not all its cracked up to be!more traffic,motor vehical inspectors,and supervisors,I busted my butt getting to this payscale why should I get paid less because the sun shines on me.

Most companies, (besides OTR) start their new guys out driving the odd hour runs, like Dean said you generally have to work your way in to the sunshine runs.

Good luck on the summer gig and enjoy the 2 paychecks for the next few months. Like its already been said, not many companies do the pay differential for night driving.
