| | A sad story about swift...
Hi everyone,
I am currently a swift driver.
I wanted to share this story with you all.
I have been driving for them for almost 2 years.
My paychecks for the last 4 months has not been over 200 dollars bring home.
I went into their terminal in Richmond, Va... I spoke with over 30 drivers sitting and they told me that they were starving to death. One driver told me that he was out for a whole month.. and did not even bring home 800 dollars in the whole month.
He told me... He was a good driver, his idle time was like 1 percent for the whole entire month, and he never made any mistakes or took out any advances on his paycheck.
I myself... get qualcomm messages every morning...
From swift... asking us... Actually, everyone gets the message, asking us to go out, and look for customers... and give Swift the information... so they can get more freight...
A funny thing is...when i asked my driver manager how much we got payed for it, She laughed at me and... said...
Nothing... u get to haul their frieght...
Swift Transportation is a horrible company and tommorow i will quit this company... Any driver who works for swift transportation is broke. Period. I talked to soo many drivers who tell me that they are broke. I just think something needs to be done about it.
They send qualcomm messages asking for frieght... and telling drivers that they are having a hard time.. financially , and that they appreciate the ones who still stayed...
PLEASE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB..
DO NOT GO TO SWIFT TRANSPORTATION

The Thread Title is clear enough as swift IS A SAD company.
I'm glad you were able to stay there for 2 years as it'll help with gaining employment elsewhere
as long as the swifty folk don't desecrate your USIS file with abject lies and other typical garbage.
DO NOT GO TO bj hunt or your sitting still will increase.

These are the types of stories that need to come to the surface when truck safety legislation is being looked at. Guys that have good jobs, don't want to believe that trucking can be a crooked business. SWIFT safety history reflects the way they do business, period. Sad part is how many potentially good drivers did they ruin by mistreatment, poor training, and turning them loose before they were ready, only to force them to stay out with little or no home time, all because they know these new drivers are into the company for the cost ( often inflated ) of training..........
