Truckers who travel Illinois have been keeping a watchful eye this week on the activities on the Illinois Senate floor as a vote nears on an effort to bring uniform speed limits to rural, interstate highways in the state.....

Illinois law now requires large vehicles to travel 10 mph below the 65 mph speed limit for other vehicles on rural interstates.

The Illinois Senate wrapped up their work Friday, May 15, without voting on a House-approved bill that would allow vehicles weighing more than 8,000 pounds to travel 65 mph on highways outside Chicago. The five surrounding “collar” counties would be exempted from the rule change......

EVERY TIME I went through the Windy it seemed there was ALWAYS a universal speed usually from 0-20 mph.
Outside the City was whatever the traffic/weather allowed.
