I really get aggravated when a young person is looking for answers from the so called professional drivers, and all they do is get in his face. I have been a line driver for Fedex Freight for the past 32 years, with 10 years of driving experience before that. If your really just 16 Junior93, then you have at least five years in front of you before any company will touch you because of insurance issues. You can spend this time in school, in the service, or flipping hamburgers. Personally I would go with door number one. Once you turn 21 then you will have to start at the bottom with a company like Swift. They will train you while your learning how to drive. Don't worry about the money. What you need to gain is experience. Once you have a couple of years of experience, then you can up grade to a better job. The only other option I can think of is possibility getting a job on the docks. I think some companies will still hire you to work on the docks if your only 18, but I'm not sure. I know Fedex Freight formally "Viking Freight" used to have a program in place where they would hire you at 18 to work the docks, and then once you turned 21 they would train you to drive a truck. That program is long gone. Good Luck TP
