Exclamation Need information please

Ok, heres the deal. I quit driving 2 years ago in sept. Now with the economy being as screwed up as it is, and the local job market in the chattanooga area down severly. I m going back to driving . But the only company i have found that will GIVE me a chance to get back out on the road is jb hunt, now i for one said in the 90's i would never work for them. But now i need to support my family! Does anyone know,or work there can tell me how the company is to work for now? The only things i see on these forums is at least a year old. Any information would be appreciated. Since i cant get into a good truck with out 2 years in the last 3, im screwed i guess, unless someone knows of a company THAT WILL. I drove both local & otr from 84 -06

TNPRIDE, I agree with Pro1 on this.
At least you can get an oar back in the water. Once you get back in circulation, you will be in a better position to see what's going on.
Who knows, you might even run across some old buddies who could provide some leads.
With your experience, J.B. should only be a very temporary transition phase.
And don't worry about what you said you would never do. Situations change and life happens to all of us.
When I got out of the Army in 1980 and started driving a truck, I said I'd never wear another uniform.
Well, a few years ago I traded my fast Peterbilt and my cowboy boots for a uniform, a clean shave and a slow truck.
Like I said, life happens.

Ok well i just decided not to go with jb, too many negative things on way too many boards , and i called the recruiter and started asking him questions and he got real irate with me. And told me that if i believed everything i read and heard from whiney ***** drivers the n he didnt want me to come work for them. Also i want to a truck stop in dalton ,ga and spoke with 2 different drivers and they are looking for other jobs, both been there less than 6 months. They both agreed that they sat more than they drove, and it would not be a wise choice to go to work there!!! So the search continues...

i too would be very irate with you..........i mean, yes, there will ALWAYS be sour grapes from drivers. drivers WILL ALWAYS GRIPE about thier job even if they got paid $50 per mile and ran 4,000 miles per week, and had benefits that were 100% company paid.........

on this, i would have to agree with the recruiter as well.

i PERSOANLLY cannot remember a time, when I WORKED at a place for less than 6 months, and I WAS LOOKING for something else..........its nearly NORMAL....

apparently, NEITHER DRIVER is aware of the economy, and the freight levels being low...............

there are OTHER DRIVERS SITTING for several hours, days at a time, WAITING for a load out.........

my personal opinon here..........YOU NEEDED A JOB, and YOU WERE HANDED A JOB..........and you turned it down..........

i really think YOU WILL BE SITTING at home BY THE PHONE, WAITING for another job offer, that just MIGHT NOT EXIST.........given your CURRENT non-driving time away from the industry.......

it wouldn't surprise me one bit, if, and i do say IF anyone else wants to hire you, they DEMAND that you go back to school (pay some money) and take a re-fresher course.........

i think you blew it.........big time.............

good luck...........you'll need it...........

P.S..........

DO NOT call back JB.........you are on thier "fecal" list now........
