Default Ticket..

So, I got my first ticket ever today (in a personal vehicle). So I was looking for advice on how to go about fighting it, I read on the back of the ticket that cdl holders are not eligible for def driving dismissal in Texas.

The details -- 50 Mph road turns into 40 mph cop hides his cruiser in the subdivision up the road out of sight and hides somewhere along the road gunning.

He comes out from wherever walks towards me points to pull over, I pull over. I greet him, he asks for license/insurance I give it, I see he for sure he is giving a ticket no question asked (aside from you in a hurry).

He tells me I was doing 50 in a 40 telling me to sign I ask to see his laser so I walk over and pick it up and see nothing. He claims he tried to hit the other person but missed, I said don't you have to be able to show me the number he said no and changes the 50 to 52 and hands me the ticket going back to his ticket farming.

Default Location????

Were you possibly in Ennis, TX.
That set up is similar to one worked there.
Just curious on this.

A local lawyer in the town is our best bet. He will know the "ground rules"
there and can work it for you, if it can be. Good luck.

Pasadena Texas about a mile before the road turns goes to Houston city limits, Pasadena cops are notorious for this kind of stuff.

Since you KNEW where you were and the Cops are notorious for that kind of stuff, WHY didn't you slow down before the speed drop?
If you're currently working Driving something, you'll HAVE TO report this ticket AFTER conviction to your employer regardless of it being in your POV.

If you go to court, you might be able to get it changed to defective equipment, speedometer. The fine will be the same but it won't be a moving violation. I have seen this happen more than once up here.

We had a driver hit the median wall with empties on ice. Milwaukee Sheriff wrote him for speed to fast for conditions. He went to court and the judge changed it to improper parking, $300. All they want is the money.

Its all about the money. Why do you think we have new laws passed every year? For our good? Its all about the money, man. The little guy pays and the rich guy plays.
