Cool Truckers GPS

I am looking to get a GPS that has truck routes in it. I see that Garmin has new model out for $500 which is not what I want to spend. Has anyone had experience with PC Miller Navigator?
This model is going for about $350.

I may be slow to move to the new technology, but a good atlas and a notepad might be a good way to start. The shortest route isn't always the best. Weather, construction, time of day all effect the route I take. I keep notes on how many miles it is each way.

Another thing that scares me about the GPS is that some of them have a memory about when and where you have been. This little box could be the star witness against you if you have a bad day and end up in court somewhere.

I have heard (read second now third hand info) that these trucking GPS's are not 100% reliable for low bridges and truck restriced routes. I can't answer your question but urge caution to still remain aware even with one.

I rather have it than not have it.

The gps is a great feature to have overall but you can't trust it for clearances. I wouldn't ever go without one again but common sense a map and asking a question is still my best rule of thumb.
