Default home gyms

I have been thinking of buying a Bowflex home gym. Does anybody own one, and what do they think about it. Or does anybody have a suggestion for something better. Free weights are not an option for me right now, because I will be working out alone at home and won't have a spotter and am looking to strength train.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

My uncle owns a Bowflex and he loves the versatility. He can hang shirts on each of the flexbands and jackets off the crossbar. The bench doubles as a handy ironing board and he can put his shoes on the leg extension attachment.

Overall it's a great accessory for anyone's closet.

I owned a bowflex ultimate for 6 years and when they say the rods are guaranteed for life, what they mean is they will never replace them when you call to get new ones. They told me the rods dont wear out.....bullle!!!! After about 2 to 3 years they lose their elasticity where the machine just doesn't do you much good anymore. Take my word for it and look into a bodysolid home gym...its a unit you'll be glad you spent a few extra bucks on.....Hooty out.

My brother has one of the original BowFlex's and it's quite tall. You need a high ceiling. I used it whenever I visited him but like medic92 said, it quickly became a clothes hanger and shelf.

If you don't free weights and want to excercise in the privacy of your own home, I feel these two BowFlex products would be perfect unless your trying to look like Arnold.
