Exclamation Total newbie

I read newbie's thread below, and I am really sorry for him. Good luck to him. Sincerely.

Anyway my situation is different. I am 53 and did Programming and IBM Computer operations for the last 20 years. I just passed my Class A road test on Friday July 10, 2009. That was the third time. What I think is against me is the following:

1) I just got my regular class D license on September 23, 2008.
2) I have to wait ten days to get my temporary license, which falls on the 22nd of July, 2009.

I paid out of my own pocket for the lessons. I'm just not sure on how to proceed in getting a job but I know I will find one, eventually.

I hope someone out there can respond to this.

Am i reading this right? You've only had a drivers license for a little less than a year at 53 yrs old? But now you've got your class A CDL, and want to find a driving job? Do i have this correct so far?

What's a class D license?? Which State? Which vehicles are operated/driven with it?

WHY would you pay out of pocket for a Driving school BEFORE talking to Trucking Companies??

You MIGHT get employed in Trucking, MAYBE, yet MORE likely not anytime soon since there is such a glut of available freight and (which has been stated innumerable times) a large percentage of available and qualified Drivers not able to land a gig.

Check with cr england, swift, werner, stevens transport, some LTL companies, Flatbed companies like TMC and Tanker companies like QC (Quality Carriers).
