Thumbs up Question for Drivers

Hello Drivers, and Thank You for your feed back.

I have a Pallet Recycling business. I am a small, but growing business in Greenville SC.

My question to you all is:

Most of you deliver freight to company's that accumulate pallets. And most of these Company's pay a pallet company to remove these pallets.

So would you as a driver, ever be willing to load up pallets and save the company money by removing them for free, if on your route back you passed a pallet company that would pay you cash for these pallets?

Please see my ad below and Thank you for your feed back!

Hello Driver, I have a pallet recycling business located on hwy 8 in Pelzer SC. (Greenville SC Area) Most company’s that you deliver inbound product to, usually pay someone to haul off all their pallets.

If you are a driver that has extra room on your truck and would like to make some extra cash, I can pay $1.00 per pallet for any:
* (48” length x 40” wide) four way pallet.
* (48” x 48“) four or two way,
*Any pallet with a 48” four way runner
*CHEP blue pallets.

Even if it has broken boards!

Most company’s will give you these pallets for Free, just to get them out of the way! So if you are looking to make CASH Money and you are coming through Pelzer SC, Please call me ahead of time and I will make sure someone is ready to unload you at one of our 8 docks and get you back on the road ASAP.

We face Hwy 8 and the Saluda River bridge, where the old Pelzer mill once stood.

We are 5 miles from Exit # 32 (Hwy 8) and I-85.
4 miles from AUGUSTA RD/US-25/CHARLES AIKEN HWY and Hwy 8

Address is: Carolina Pallets
# 1 Murray St.
Pelzer SC 29669

Ph. 864-444-1092

Please leave a message and I will return your call ASAP.
Thank you for any business you can give a local small business owner.

Drive Safe,

Steve Henderson

Lots of P&D and local delivery drivers pickup empty pallets routinely when we stop to make a delivery, so in most cases, no the driver wont pull into your place, since his company needs the pallets back, so they can reuse them for the next load to be delivered.

CHEP BLUES: there is no way you are going to get anyone to sell to you for 1.00/ pallet.

i am glad to see that you are at least trying to drum up business.....however, to haul for "free" isn't realistically going to happen. it might be best if you sub-contracted a local company in your area to drop off pallets to you for a fee........

me personally, it ain't MY responsibility to save my company any money. i get paid to drive. the sales dept, or the owner HAS to find ways, not me, to save money.

i'm sure you might get a driver where this all sounds good, ($1.00 per pallet), but he would have to load up that trailer himself, and i don't think that $1.00 is a good payment, since you will be getting much more on the re-sale end of it.

but, good luck to you, i do wish you well.
