I am curious to know what any of you may know about FFE and how they run and treat their drivers? While you are at it what is your thoughts about Swift?

i think FFE stands for "frozen food express", but, i cannot swear to this. they have been around a very long time though, this i do now. now, whether or not they hire newbies, i'm not sure, so i cannot help you further with them.

as for swift, they too have been around for a long time. its not really the best company out there for any newbie, but its at least a start for someone to get experience. the pay isn't great, but one should be able to survive for a while. swift has had (for a long time) a bad reputation for its drivers being accident prone (newbies), and for working you to death for your wages.

at my level of experience, i wouldn't NEED to go and work for swift. BUT, anyone right out of trucking school and unable to find work else where's, may at least go to swift to gain some driving time, then leave when he/she has some experience.

Thanks pro1driver for your input...I'm not a veteran like it sounds like your are but I am actually considering going with FFE. My curiosity for Swift was in general because I can't seem to get a clear answer from a few guys I know that have worked for them.

Frozen Food Express: Mr. Jack Clark, whom used to be the Terminal Manager for Sidney Alterman, Alterman Transport, went to work in the Atlanta FFE Terminal some years back.

I'm able to tell you, knowing he is there, if you are an Honest driver, you will be 'Greased' routinely. Why? A load of cryovac meat can be upwards of a million, so any OS/D is cause.

A weapons permit helps with this one.

Schneider and Swift are both on the ropes. Inexperienced Drivers VS. Trial Lawyers...
