Default Fuel surcharge/Owner operator

When a company offers an owner opeartor a fuel surcharge, what do they mean? That they simply give you a fuel card and you will get that deducted from your settlement paycheck?

Pay and Settlements
Pay % of Line Haul:
CPM Loading Pay: $.94
CPM Empty Pay: $.94
Fuel Surcharge: Yes!
Settlement Cycle: weekly
Trip Advance: $1200 solo / $1800 team
Trip Pak: We Use Transflow!
Direct Deposit: Yes!

Is this a typical offer sheet to Owner operators to lease with their company?

fuel surcharge is a hike in rates tied to the price of fuel for that week. it kicks in at $1.20 a gal and goes up from there

our surcharge is based on 1.10 per gallon and get 1 cpm for each 6 cent increase
1.16 per gallon and you get an extra 1 cent per mile
94 loaded or mt is low but probably typical right now
94 cpm means they are always looking for drivers
(or they may have recently cut the rate)
I think this week the surcharge is around27 cpm
that would make you 1.21 loaded or mt
then you would need to know
tolls Paid
unloading pay
stop pay
detention
permits paid
registration paid
safety bonus
layover pay
congestion fee for big cities
off the top of my head
at 120 a mile and 3 k miles a week is $3600 per week
figure another $1500 for fuel
$2100 per week after fuel
the comes payments and insurance

if you have no other expenses in your life......
just the truck
you could probably do ok

I've seen MANY billboards last year stating anywhere from $.85 to $1.20 a mile to Owner Ops. as if these rates are acceptable.
YOUR operating expenses are YOURS!!

NOPE!! Have you not been actually READING my posts indicating I've NEVER been an O. O.??
Never was, never to be.
I've driven for some and as a result viewed AND experienced what they had to put up with to survive which made becoming an O. O. much less appealing.
I can be happy and broke without all the added headaches and pains of being an O. O.

FOR the Owner Ops all I can say is I hope success for you in your ventures!!
