I took the initiative after driving Class B CDL for 20 years hauling hazmat to get my Class A CDL. I graduated last month and have received the Class A with tanker and hazmat.
I thought it was a good idea to go ahead and pay for the training and license myself and then go into a starting company. WRONG! It seems that most of these newbie company's want someone to attend "their" school so they can garnish your wages with interest from your pay check.
I understand their thinking from a company stand point dollars wise but come on! It's frustrating to say the least from my side of the fence.
So here I set with a shiny new Class A CDL and trying to get a hire but since I'm not a Cash Cow entering their company they just look elsewhere.
Sucks to be me, LOL !
