I NEVER text or read texts while I am driving,EVER! I do use the phone on occasion, but as a night driver ther's a lot less traffic. Now that I am driving days, my phone use is for the most part nil. I may call my meet driver if I'm late, but thats about all.

If you are using a phone and driving a truck and are involved in an accident that hurts someone, they will subpoena your phone records and you will be liable as well for those injuries if you are preoccupied with a phone call at the time of the accident.

You could be sued for everything you own and then some, plus someone could be killed

In the past few years I have narrowly missed having several accidents with people text messaging or talking on a handheld cellphone (not equipped with a hands free device). Some people can't even seem to talk and drive at the same time!!

My cellphone, if ringing, stays in it's holster until I can pull over. If it stops ringing before I can answer it, I return the call while stopped if I think it is important to do so. As far as text messages goes, I do not even read those messages and certainly do not send any until I am out from behind the wheel.
I completely ignore or turn off the cellphone in heavy traffic.

Common sense goes a long long ways toward safety while driving!
