Hi Jason!

Well you understand that right now you have some things that you have to deal with. First is the liability insurance even if you find someone to ride with. I don't know that many O/O's could allow you to ride with them under working conditions, particularly right now when keeping expenses low is paramount to staying afloat in this recession.

Have you applied with the big OTR companies like Swift, Knight, Werner, JB Hunt yet?

You really need to become a driver at this point and getting experience is why you need to get on with a carrier who allows new drivers onboard. You wont make much money for a few years but that's always been that way in trucking.

Get out there and put in your applications. Most companies have online applications, but you will likely get a phone call if they like what they see, so if you have a cellphone, put that down as your primary call line so you are not stuck at your home waiting for a call.

Good luck to you!!

Hello Jason,

As has been mentioned a few dozen times in other posts here at TB:

The school you attended should have mentioned some of the following (but will not cut their throats).

>Trucking is flooded with experienced Drivers that are unable to secure positions driving.
>There are companies that refuse to hire people that currently HAVE a CDL-A.
>There are companies that recognize certain training schools.
>The amount of qualified drivers to available openings like Swift that has people waiting at home to be called AFTER Orientation.
>The amount(s) of currently employed Drivers grossing less than $500.00 a week when that much.
>Recruiters are PAID TO LIE and will say whatever an applicant wants to hear.

These are just some FACTS in trucking as with other avocations.
