Default Just got Hired at Bancroft. They are hiring in St Louis and Los Angeles I believe.

Is anyone else working for a mail contractor? I'm kinda bummed out that I chose to go this route, but no LTL companies seem to want to hire me. I don't know what the deal is. I have applications with all of them.

If you want to apply with Bancroft http://www.bancroftandsons.com Fill out the application and they will get back to you. They are hiring in Grand Prairie, TX too.

Here is what the deal is with my company and I'm assuming all mail contractors. They pay a hourly rate that is required when they bid on these contracts. I'm getting $21 an hour to run teams. I got a route with 55 hours. They pay $4.16 an hour towards your health insurance. They don't subsidize health insurance whatsoever so you are better off just buying your own health insurance if you are healthy. They offer a group plan for a family that is $275 a week which is way too expensive for me. I'm just going to buy my own health insurance. Basically it breaks down to about .36cpm when you figure in your health insurance costs. They also make a percentage of your pay per diem which lowers your pay further. I didn't know all this when I jumped in, but it looks like I will make a steady $1000 a week and this is what I need to pay my bills. Just throwing this out there for anyone that is interested. It is steady reliable work.

I'm like 30 minutes from the Terminal. I'm in Frisco, TX and the terminal is in Grand Prairie, TX.

Home time is I go out Saturday and return Wednesday night. I don't know the actual route because I was told different things. Its something like Dallas to Oakland, CA Oakland,CA to Los Angeles, CA Los Angeles to Detroit, MI Detroit, MI to Newark, NJ Newark, NJ to Dallas, TX

Well, I figured out what the exact details are. I'm running Dallas to Richmond,CA to Bell, CA to Detroit, MI to Pittsburgh, PA to Dallas,TX. 6047 miles. .382cpm Thats pretty sad. You would think Obama paid better than that. I'm happy though. Hopefully things will just turn around in the trucking industry and I'll be compensated better.
