Most of us started our first jobs in a healthier job market, you have the misfortune to try starting in the worst market for drivers since the early 1970's,Which it turn is probaly going to require you to think outside of the box for your first driving job.Have you considered moving companies? its pretty hard work but it can be an excellent place to start, also working on the dock for an LTL freight hauler when the economy improves you'll already have a foot in the door at some of the best jobs in our industry.

Well I assume that the other places that don't require experience are companies that you don't want to work for i.e.: Swift, JB Hunt, Schneider, ect? well if one doesn't want to work for those companies, but they want to get experience in the industry, you have to either buy your own truck (Not recommended) lie about previous experience (going to catch flack over this one) find an O/O that will hire you, or suck it up and get the necessary experience with whoever will hire you. Good Luck to you, but the economy does have allot to do with it as previously mentioned.

You should concern yourself with finding any job right now. Trucking is down now...and probably will be for the next 4-5 years ?

cikulin I can,t speak for finding driving jobs in the USA but I am sure it,s about the same as down here, it,s not what you know but Who you know, my suggestion would be is get your self known among owner drivers & get a bit of releif work for them you have nothing to lose, plenty to gain, I wish you the best of luck in your endevours.

kiwiray down under.
