there are still WAY TOO MANY experienced drivers out of work. schools are taking in students, but NEVER PROMISE jobs. you ain't gonna get high dollars your first year. you "might" be able to get up to $35,000 your first year, IF YOU MAKE IT.
people (i see this all the time, at my school), think that trucking is FOR THEM, but after a mere month on the road, they chicken out. its a tough life. you DO NOT GET to vacation as you drive. if you arrive late, you can be whipped. if you have an accident, you can be whipped. you CAN BE FIRED for the smallest infractions, as there ARE WAY TOO MANY drivers out of work, and the pool is full of potential drivers ready and waiting for you to mess up.
like in the elevator business.........
trucking has it's "ups and downs"..............
and right now...........it AIN'T GOING UP.............
