Default super singles

How do the super singles handle in the snow? Is there a special kind of drive S/S tire? They look so smooth.

Have heard that they handle just fine. Have also heard in some situations with winter weather they handle better than a dual lug tire, and in other situations the dual lug is better.

I've heard pretty much the same thing. I was hoping someone would answer who actually knows and has experience with them.

The last 4 years since ODFL got them. Super singles are great in any weather, lighter and easy to move around, thats if the super singles come will the unit (jiff or dolly) it was design for. I have see old units that have super singles on them, not the same. The two thing you may have a problem with, (one) flat tire, hard to find and sometimes have to duel out on the flat side and (two) do not use one that the tread wear is below DOT rule. Do not handle good in bad weather. Hope this helps you out.

ARCO gasoline trucks have been running the SS tires since the late 80's, so I wouldn't mind running them. (and making tons of money hauling gasoline for ARCO too).
