If you have a clean record you might get on with a place like Swift but the freight just isn't there for lots of companies. The economy really started tanking out in fall/winter 2007 so you had some bad luck. Lots of people are hurting real bad right now, so you ain't alone, friend.

The 2 year (verifiable and recent) driving requirement has been around for a few years.
Some places want 5 years driving experience and recently I read about 8 years driving experience.
Most state from 6 Months to 2 Years.
Insurance companies control WHO gets hired where, so in essence then one can be seen as an employee of the Insurance company while being paid by the Freight Trucking Company.

Schneider used to train Newbies yet closed their Schools last year.
JB Hunt used to train Newbies but doesn't anymore from what I know.
Werner claims they train Newbies but there are varying stories.
CR England, while having advertisements EVERYWHERE, as well claims to train Newbies and pushes the Lease to own package.
There are Flatbed companies as well that USED TO train newbies but do not because of the over abundance of qualified Drivers and Applicants.
Some companies refuse to hire those of us WITH experience.

IF you get hired somewhere, STAY THERE for at least 1 year.

Default so?

first of all thank u for ur responses. it sounds to me that there will not be anymore new drivers when all the experianced retire the transportation industry is gonna collapse they want to it seems to keep recycling the same 50,000 drivers or so. i am joking but what should i do what would u do? i went to a driving school in alaska called northern industrial training i have a cdl so i dont need to be trained again. are u telling me that a cdl without experiance is useless entirely??

What CK told you was spot on. Right now the recession is making it hard to find work, even for seasoned drivers. Its just bad timing that you have a CDL in these conditions right now. __

Not bad for a company of parasites that went cap in hand to the GOVT (the people of the USA)for a lil monotary help, jeez guys it could only happen in America.
