trailking is on a distinguished road
Default Thinking about pulling 4 car with dually. Any one care to put there 2 sence in.

Well i'm sure everyone read my last thread about working for CRENGLAND. My dad had metioned to me buying a dually and a four car trailer. I already know that it's going to run me about $15,000-$25,000 to get started. So that will take me some time to save up. But other than that I just wanted to know if it's woarth my time and money. I'm a hard worker and have plenty of time on my hands to work. I'll be running aorund florida for the time being i've been on some dispatch sites and it seems like there's always cars moving. Just looking for some 2 sence.

before you invest in this venture, do MORE homework.

make sure there IS work available. sometimes you might see many things on a particular day, making it look good, when in all reality, it might just be that one day, then several days (or weeks) without any work.

next, if you do invest, you had better BE SURE the truck and trailer are either brand new or only "slightly" used, if even that's possible. do not buy anything that doesn't pass ANY state inspection, regarding safety or emissions, as it'll cost you more to get it road worthy.

i wish you well, there may indeed be plenty of work in hauling carss, but you have to establish yourself first, before the customers will hire you.

let us know your final decision.

My brother did this a couple of yrs ago out of Dallas and the empty miles killed him....it's a tough business this trucking venture, even hauling cars....With the auto industry being in the state it is today,I can't imagine it is better now than it was 2 yrs ago....Good Luck.

this is true too if there is an "insurance salvage yard" anywhere's near you. or any "general" salvage yard, for that matter.
