Preferred contractor gotta get financing to rent equipment for the job.
Gotta line up operators from a "local" local to run the machines.
Gotta set a start date and eliminate the completion penalty clauses.
Gotta get with this heavy hauler out of Cleveland,TX. to see if he is sober enough, has fuel money left, and is not deer hunting.

So slack the chains; hang the binders back up, THESE THING TAKE TIME..

P.S....
(A pity Blount Bros out of Montgomery, Al is no longer is business. Blount could have cleared it by noon tomorrow and removed the runways they flew the Cat's and mine trucks in on.)
Yea you right. This is a Government job.The R/R does it faster because downtime cost them money.S.P had the Bridge on the Trinity river break with a train on it.Two weeks are less it was up and running.
Fuel money that went for some good booze.

Political background here:

One group wanted I40 run where it is now, to be close/give access to Gatlinburg/Cherokee/Maggie Valley, etc as tourist trade.

The other side said run it over the old US 25/70 route as proven roadbed.
There is some question if the present route can ever be stabilized.

One good thing about this to me is I'm running K-town to Charlotte and back right now and I went from getting 490 a day to 614.

Check out the size if these boulders!

At the 1 minute mark of the Video, one can CLEARLY SEE MORE ROCK READY TO TUMBLE, so removing just the bit at the bottom will loosen the top for more fun and longer duration of cleanup.
Wait till it begins Icing as the expansion will then define what is yet to tumble.

For CK and KD – Serious question…..

Ref busting the rocks on I40.
Explosives may cause more slides or even set up a loosening effect that
might allow later slides. Plus blowing the big ones will create a pretty big
debris field to have to scoop up and load out.

Way back I read something on a demolition job that due to location could
not use explosives. There was some chemical(s) that you used in a similar way.
Drill it in a row to split, pour in the chemical(s) mix, and as it set up and hardened
it created tremendous a pressure, making your split .

Have you ever heard of this or recall an instance of its use in a confined area?
