Default Any Body work for Cardinal Log. doing Home Depot?

Need info from some one working for these guys actually doing this Home Depot Delivery account.

Job is 6 days a week and the recruiter told me it could average 4-5 delivery's a day.

On other post here that were older it seemed these were Private Contractor jobs where you leased the truck from them. The guy told me nothing about that.

Stated the pay was .38 mile and $25.50 a stop, and you average gross of about $750-$1000 a week.

I am trying to run the numbers and I can't possibly imagine any delivery being more than 40-50 miles from my local Home Depot although I could be wrong.

Can some one tell me if this job is worth pursuing or a waste of time.

I am leery of contract jobs already as I just lost one after 8 years when my company lost the contract.

I need info from someone actually doing this with Cardinal.

Thanks

Yeap, that's always the down side when working for a logistics company that bidded low, then loses the bid a few years later to some other contractor.

Don't know anything more then you do. Cardinal runs the loads into the home depots around here too and they have an electric forklift piggybacked on the read of the flatbed.

Nice looking equipment, but that don't pay the bills.

you will be making deliveries using a 48' flatbed with a "Moffitt" truck on the back. in case you do not know what a moffitt truck is, its basically a forklift that mounts to the rear of the truck, and EACH delivery, you have to unload the moffitt.

you WILL BE delivering loads to residences, as well as business's with that 48' trailer.

now as far as it being an "independant contractors job", this is news to me, as all i ever see is Cardinal trucks.

now, with the economy the way it is, not too many people are re-modeling thier homes or business's as well. however, there CAN BE new construction going on that needs supplies. BUT that's ONLY IF they buy from Home Depot.

and regarding that moffitt truck...??

you MIGHT NEED a hoisting license from your home state. i KNOW I DID ,a nd i covered 3 states, but i worked for Lowes, not home depot, but its all relative. unless there is work, you WILL BE Sitting at home, PAYLESS...!!!

by the way, my store had customers form the "other" 2 states, so miles are probable. but its all economy driven. you might not be making as much money as they say "you could", which is the catch phrase here.

this all applies to the "delivery account" (homes/business's)...........NOT the account to bring stuff to the store...........
