What gives why are truckers going on 28.535 mhz ? We are hearing a increasing number of illegal stations even down here in tampabay.
Beside the fact non hams have no right being there why are people who have 600 khz ( 60 ch ) of illegal space before they even get there going that far out of the way ? WHY WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT ? PUT OUT THE WORD STAY OFF 10 METERS
The FCC has taken a hands off aproach to illegal cb for many years BUT if this keeps up they will step up enforcement and if your a user of illegal frequencies your chances of getting caught will go up ....
UNDERSTAND it is being monitored and reported if you know people doing this they need to back down before the FCC is forced to crack down ......
I would like to know if this has a reason or is it just because they are not radio savy ......

I would like to know if this has a reason or is it just because they are not radio savy ...... | Since I earned my Amateur ticket some years ago, there have been a plethora of enforcement actions, including FedEx, and UPS. Since I do not use 10 m, I do not have one in the truck. There still are truckstops that sell the 10 meter equipment as "fancy CB's". Gotta wonder.

Your right on target " FANCY CB's " and that the start of the problem ...
The people who we hear doing this at least from here feel if they have that ch they can use it ...... But they can't and need to wise up ......

Without my freq. meter in reach, what is the slang term for that frequency range? Low side, double low, triple low? Or high, double high and so forth. I run a Galaxy 66. I am being serious in my questioning.

Not owning one my guess is on the 66 it will go from 25.165-28.755.That is it's range
The last 2 bands are on 10 meters f and g and on ch 19 will put you on 28.085 and 28.535 mhz and THIS is being monitored .
IF you are not a licensed ham you have no right out side the legal 40 ch ( 26.965 - 27.405 mhz BAND D )...
BUT IF you must play around STAY OFF 28.000 -29.700 and no one will care ....
