ATS back the men and women who sacrifised it all.
for that matter there's a ton of companies out there that out shine Melton. from my experiance it would appear that only desperate truckers would go with Melton. My advise is get on Schneider for 6 months to a year, get the drive time in, then move on to a well respected company who's mission is to have low driver turn over percentages and getting you home to your family. Now alot of them bragg that's what they do, but there lying to you. What you discuss, like your options with the recruiter, relize this, his job is to suck you in, after orientation your in new hands with your driver manager, and usually it's the opposite side of the coin, they are not playing the same sheet of music. The first question i ask now to a company is, DO YOU SUPPORT THE MILITARY?
if they say yes, ask them HOW DO YOU SUPPORT THE MILITARY? and the last question DO YOU HAVE WRITTEN POLICY ON VETERANS AND TIME OFF PROCEDURES.
Now if they say no, then move on to the next company. yes your gonna have to do your research but in the end you'll be more sucessfull and you and your family will be happy you took the time to find a company that supports you and what you are.
Good post(s) Cavscout!

Thanks for serving our great country!

Hey Snowman That kind of language doesn't bother me but there is a time and a place and in a public setting where there may young ears and women present Is neither. As far as the Co. I applied and they said they would have a recruiter call back the following day. Guess what ? No call. If they can't even follow up with a return call as they promised I have my doubts as to whether they will do anything they actually tell you .

Hello, I am currently a Melton Driver, But this will soon change not cause of the way they treat vets but cause of the miles we are no longer getting, this is do a lot cause of the economy and the fact that flatbed frieght is slow going right now, Melton is a fine company to work for and after 3yrs with them i would know, However after a lot of research I found a new career in the reefer division of this Lifestyle and plan to go there asap. And to the vets we thank you but welcome back to the real world if your condition does not allow you to preform the job duties then find a new career. Why should you be allowed speacial treatment afterall we didnt send you there you sighned up for it.
