Cdl Vision Waiver? Due to an injury in my present field (that would not hamper me driving) I may be looking at an involuntary retirement.
Last week, I went to renew my CDL-B at the RMV - I flunked the binocular 20/40 in my right eye. The tester said it may have been "their machine" at fault.
I'm an old pre-CDL-B driver (been away from it for over 20 years), who got the new CDL years ago, but never used it nor went for the Medical Card.
I have 20/40-20/60 (AFAIK) with corrective lenses. No medical problems to preclude a Medical Card absent the eyesight.
Is there a Medical Waiver from DOT/FMVA I can get signed off by my eye doctor attesting to my capability to safely operate a B or A CDL vehicle?
Research has been confusing, to say the least. If I could get a waiver from MA RMV, would that cover me interstate, or just Intrastate?
Any help here sincerely appreciated!
Mike
