Recruiter Meeting & Team Driving
Well we went and met with the Schneider recruiter. Seemed like an Okay guy, but did notice he did not want to give direct answers. I did find out some very interesting information for those folks who don't want to sign that 18 month contract. They no longer have you sign a contract, which I thought was great and the pay for a newbie (like me, possibly) is up around .34cpm. I had my "125" questions for him, I know, I know OCD, what can I say, this would be a huge change for us, I needed all the details and questions answered. A few questions I couldn't get him to commit on, but we'll talk again. Anyway he really pushed us for the Team Driving, but really, 10 hours per day per person...that's 20 hours a day that truck is rolling. Is the $$$ really worth it? I mean when do you get the chance to have a life, get out of the truck to get some exercise when there is only 4 hours of your day left? Are there companies out there that do the team driving that don't expect 10 hours of driving each day for each person? We would really like to truck together, but I am not able to drive 10 hours per day. Is there still a chance for us?
Thanks all,
