We all need to take showers. If for no other reason that it cuts down on you getting your butt kicked because you smell really really bad!
Most showers at a truckstop are busy and the average time a person is in the shower is 20 minutes. You can just about figure out how many drivers in a day are shuffled through the showers!
In between each shower user a person comes along and is suppose to clean and disinfect the shower for the next person.
The above is actually a fairy tale!!
At the most the cleaning will consist of some yutz with a wet mop that smells like Pine sol and they swipe it around a couple times and maybe they splash some water around the shower, sink and flush the toilet.
Not a pretty thought is it?
My suggestion to you newbies is.....
Bring your own towels and washcloths because I truly believe the towels provided by the truckstops are NOT washed after each use. They are most likely tossed into the dryer to dry so they can get them ready for the next flow of drivers coming in.
Think about it,those showers are always busy! So there is no flipping way they can keep up for the demand of towels!
Bring a pair of shower shoes(rubber flipflops) they may just save your feet from developing a nasty case of fungus! Like I said most truckstop personal have a few short minutes to get the shower ready for its next occupant.
A can of Lysol disinfectant spray will be a good idea too! Just a few sprays of that around will also combat those nasty creepy fungi and bacteria. Make sure you give your shower shoes a bit of a spray too, that way you aren't dragging some of those unwanted guests with you.
