Didn't get approved with schneider...
Well I got a letter from schneider national today saying they wouldn't hire me. It didn't say why though.
Anyway, I have applied through driversolutions and talked to Brent the other day. He is supposed to mail me a packet out to look over. I guess the only two companies that hire in my area (oklahoma) are P.A.M. and USA truck. Out of these two which would be the best? And for what reasons?
I'm kind of running out of options as far as company paid training goes, I mean there's still Swift, CRST, and Prime but I haven't heard good things about them.
I know C.R. England has a training program but I've also heard bad things about them.
Should I just get hired on with whatever company that will take me and stick it out for one year?
I really want to pull flatbeds and I'm curious about the ins and outs of bulk trailers also, but should I just go with reefers to get into the business? I havent found many companies that have training programs to get your cdl that pull flats or bulk trailers.
If you pull reefers can you just drop and hook or would I have to load and unload? I assume it depends on the company but thought I would ask anyway.
Oh and one more question...For what reason do you slide your tandems? Is it so you can get into tight spots or?
Sorry for all the questions, but that's the way to learn I guess. Any tips you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
