Default Safeway trucks switch to biodiesel as company greens operations (KESQ Palm Springs)
PLEASANTON, Calif. (AP) - The nation's third-largest grocery chain is going green. Pleasanton-based Safeway says its entire trucking fleet now runs on biodiesel, a cleaner-burning fuel that can be made from plant oils and other renewable sources.
