Truckers no longer have to worry about being ticketed for smoking alone in their cabs, but restaurant and bar owners could be fined for allowing customers to smoke even if health inspectors don’t catch them in the act. More than a month after Ohio voters banished smoking from most public spaces, the state Department of Health yesterday exempted commercial trucks from the ban but indicated that restaurants and bars could be cited even without health inspectors witnessing violations.
