I have an tentative job interview @ River Valley Foods aka Cavallaro Foods in SYR - does anyone know if they are good to work for ? Treat their employees good ? What the work atmosphere there ? Its an Cust Svc postion ? DO NOT want to work for another CO that does not give a s**t about their workers - treat you as just another number - I work too damn hard to go down that road again ! Please let me know - Thanks in advance,

IDK what part of the country you are in, but Sysco is the best paying around here your right, they are making more in 4 days than I am in 5...much more, my best is usually $220.00 on a day, worst here lately is $180.00, for the $180.00, I'm not working that hard. Here is my thing, I like PFG, no one rides my butt, my boss so far has gotten my back more than once, he delivered for Sysco KCY, been with us 10 yrs or so I think, I may not get paid the best, but I will take my puny $1000.00 a week over Sysco Arkansas $1300-1500 a week anyday, I worked for fredex freight for 7 years, I refuse to go back to the BS that fredex or Sysco can dish out, for me its not about the money so much as it is about my work environment, I like going to work everyday, thats important to me. I wish we payed like Sysco or US Foods, IDK why we are not more competitive, if a bunch of BS comes with getting payed more, I would just as soon stay where I'm at in pay.
All of us in this business work very hard for what we make, the thing I like is I have never had a nose turned up to me by a Sysco man, or anyother food guy just because they made more money, its like we have this mutual respect for one another reguardless what we make or don't make, freight just isn't like that, thats why I like food so much, I actually had a Sysco man that I know offer to run my product in that I had stacked and staged on the dock, the locations employees were late, got my stuff on the dock then pulled out of his way so he could back in, he could tell I was in a hurry, of course I declined his offer, thanked him profusley for even offering in the first place, thats the way it is around here, all of us PFG, Sysco, US Foods, Ben E Keith, Tankersley, we all work together, its really great!! |

I'd stay away from PFG-Dallas. Everyone ive ever heard from hates it and are way underpaid. In times like these i guess it would be better than nothing.
