It's getting close to election time. Just trying to get the pulse of Conway drivers on gun-control.
I belive that there should be universal laws for all of those with a permit from their home state.
Pennsylvania is a liberal state with pretty good gun laws. Got my carry permit at 21 and had it ever since. My second home, Northern Va, also has great terms for gun owners, but I have to travel through Maryland so I leave it at home.
I grew up around them. My dad has an FFL and owns some of the best. I had a German gramps, and an American gramps. The pops has the best of both. Gotta say, the German stuff is unreal. For the enthusiasts, he has the famous MG and all three famous MP's.
Anyway, back to the point...
What is your view on gun-control....
Tom Ridge for president...

I was an expert with 3 types in the military, have never owned one personally, nor have any interest (need?) to own one...This is going to be a very emotional thread, so this is going to be my only post to it, and I have very strong opinions about it. I have friends who hunt ( I support them) but I don't...I also know folks who are close to coming off the axis who own them and I really wish they didn't...I worked as a reserve firefighter for 3 years in Socal and saw the worst of it up close, so I will say I am qualified to speak, but may not necessarily have the most objective opinion..Good luck with this one..

1. I live in the liberal state of Pennsylvania that does have great gun laws. I got my "shall issue" permit at age 21. When I go to my second home of Northern Virginia (Washinton D.C. Metro) I have automatic resoprosity. Problem is Maryland. I will not break the law with firearms. That means I will not bring it though Maryland. Is that fair??? BTW, the Maryland side of DC is the most dangerous. Is that a fair law Boxboss...
2. I grew up with a unique family history. My moms dad was part of an elite-imfamous-historic German division during WW2. My dads dad was part of a famous American division.. My dad has an FFL. He has spent no less than 25 years of his life trying to obtain the MG's and MP's of the Germans.. He now has the authentic MG.. and all 3 imfamous MP's. Should he not be able to own them Boxboss...

I think carry permits should be reconized by other states much like a drivers licence. I suppose the best way to do that would be standardizing the criteria for obtaining the permit across the states. But maybe there's a danger to that, like perhaps we'd be ceding too much power to the federal government. Anyway the Katrina debacle should make anyone think very carefully about government control of their right to bear arms.

I'am pro gun. Hand gun and hunting rifle. In my opinion there should be no citizen with an assault rifle.

OK, Jake, I should have included this in my original post, which now has me going back on my word to not participate, but I think this point is OK....
I think people should have a right to own them, I think collectors should have a right to expand their collections, and I believe in the right to bear arms...I also believe that people kill people, not guns, and that unfortunately, there are entirely too many irresponsible people in the world, including those that own weapons legally but somehow cannot manage to keep them out of the hands of children...I've seen too much bad to ever be convinced otherwise, and I should be allowed that..
Now, I'm done...
