At one time I had a very high opinion of R&L until today when all I was needing was for the dispatcher to relay a message to me from a customer that I called asking them where at on a street they were located on. And I was informed that the dispatch was not there to take messages for us. I could understand it if are dispatch was busy all day with phone calls but ours are not, the morning dispatch tries to stay out on the dock as long as he can and lets the TM do his job and then he comes in and plays with his cell phone , then the TM will go to his office and read the newspaper, and the night dispatch is to busy talking to his girlfriend in TX on the company phone.( I can see they are real busy) I called HR about it and was told that it was the drivers responablity to locate the customer and only to use the dispatch as a last resort even if it means to drive around until we find it. When fuel is around 4.70 a gal. I thought I would try to help the company save some money but they don,t want to do that, Well thats fine with me at 23.47 an hour I,ll drive around all day long and I will try to make it a point to do so, if they don,t mind wasting money then I don,t mind making it while they try to find out where all there money is going. I still have hopes for the company but after today I have to say I,m alittle worried how long they can run like that.
