Default Freightliner day-cabs

I'm seeing more and more Roadway freightliner day-cabs out on the highways here lately. Just wondering how they compare to the Volvo, Sterling and International tractors.

While I haven't drove one...yet, I have talked to a driver who has. They have real good power and are set at 64 mph. However, the ride was rough. They are air-ride cabs, and maybe the bags just needed adjustment. I have noticed that 309 is running them, perhaps on the 309-135 run?

i have had three of the new Freightliners day-cabs while i was on my 341-241 bid. they pulled good and generally not much wrong other than i felt alot of road bumps thru the steering wheel.

as for comparing them. Volvos are the best Big R has atm. Internationals and Sterlings have and always will suck hard, Freightshakers are to new but probably be a cross between Sterling and volvos.

I have not driven one of ours yet but did have a new Penske rental for a trip. Of course the rental was turned up to 70 and pulled very well.....lol.....also very well equiped.
UNLIKE ours. Did feel much the same as you about the animal as a whole. Only thing I would add is that I did notice a real discomfort when turning as to where everything was behind me.Not real sure if it was just because of the cab design with relation to mirror location or just something that Im not used to......was strange cause I can usually get used to a new truck inside of a couple miles.

They have their pro's and con's....
Pro's
- you can't pull triples in them
- you can "walk around" in them
Con's
- Terminals can't work on them since they are leased
- They are really noisy inside (rattle from shifter 99% of them)

why can't they pull triples, i know the sleepers are to long, are you talking about the freightliner sleepers??? this is about the new day cabs...
