Your very right. And why would the Teamsters want to mess with our current Health care we get right now. Most Teamsters have very good Health Insurance. They a supporting a Health bill that will put us all Universal Health Care with in the next 10 to 15 years

Where does it say in the proposed legislation that those of us who can afford insurance will be put into this plan?

Its not written in this plan. It will be the intended affect of this plan.

Democrat after democrat inculding Obama says this is the best wat to get to Universal Health Care.

Think about it Lifer. The dems say the public option will promote competition with Health Insurance companies. It won't. The private market CAN NOT compete against the government. The government can legislate in their favor to compete against Insurance companies. But most importantly the government has unlimited funds in tax payer money. The insurance companies don't.
The government can provide a plan that will cover everything you need and or want, at a low low premium. And Insurance company can't do that. They will have to come up with a plan that covers everything you want and or need. But they can't price as low as government. Their premiums will of course have to cover everything in the plan and still make a profit.
There for, as premiums go up, more and more employers will drop the Insurance for employees and employees will have to go on the government plan.
Which the only reason I can come up with why the unions and Teamsters would back this bill with the pubic option. With every contract that is negotiated, Health Care benefits is becoming the biggest hurdle to jump. I think the unions just want to put us all on the government plan, so they don't have to negotiate Health Care anymore.
Basically sending us members down the river and saying " GOOD LUCK".
So Lifer, its not whats in this bill right now. Its what I like to call the UNINTENDED, INTENDENDED CAUSE AND EFFECT OF THE PUBLIC OPTION.

Watch this little ad pushing for Obama's Health reform. Its from Obama's Organizing for America site.

If you watch closely, it say Universal Medicare 13 seconds in. Its what they want.

Hmmmm. You are saying you think the government is conspiring with the unions to drive us all onto a universal healthcare system......Even though there is no language in the legislation regarding such? Interesting. You once accused me of being a conspiracy theory nut case. Go figure.

Here is another thought. The government wants to insure those without healthcare are provided for. They get into the healthcare "business" so to speak. A little "friendly competition" thrown into the mix. The insurance companies that have been making huge profits on our over priced premiums will now have competition that will drive the premium costs down, making it easier and more affordable for businesses to provide healthcare plans for their employees. All of a sudden the issue of negotiating health care benefits for those employees covered under a union contract quite simple. The hurdle is effectively eliminated.

I don't know if the unions are conspiring with the government. But the unions do want us on Universal Health Care.

Huge profits? You didn't see that the Health Insurance profots only and 2.2% profit in 2008. Down from their average 3% before. Ya really huge.

You just don't get it do you. This public option will not make it easier and more affordable for business top provide Healthcare. It will make it more expensive.

How can this be a conspiracy theory when I gave you video clips of Obama and Barney Franks saying they want Universal Health Care. Hell Franks said the public option is the best way to Universal Health Care.
