WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Teamsters leafleted Hallmark shops today in cities across the country, including Chicago, Washington, D.C., Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Kansas City, the hometown of Hallmark Cards Inc. Shoppers were given leaflets explaining how Greystone Graphics, a specialty card supplier to Hallmark, wants to continue to slash its workers' wages, force them to pay more for health insurance and cut vacation time and holidays.
"Despite their healthy profits, Greystone Graphics is demanding wage and benefit cuts from our members," said Byron Austin, President of the Graphic Communications Conference (GCC) local union in Kansas City. "We've been bargaining over a new contract with Greystone since April 2006. Yet, the company continues to force cuts in wages, health care and benefits despite our members' long history of dedicated work."
