I think they know that. In the last few years I have heard rumors that the labor rep was throwing that around also. In need of drivers.

Yea.................but little be known that the tier pay system is the minimal standards that the company must follow. They can pay any new driver full scale from day one if they wanted to. Look at New Penn offered any x-redstar men 85% to start. But they will never pay scale to start because they probably feel if you need the job that bad you'll stick around............and they were right I did.

They will never give up the tiered wage system. Look how much they save every change with new hires at gaining terminals and laying off full rate employee's at losing terminals. Thats all these change of ops are about. Got nothing to do with moving freight as evidenced by the other large non union companies never realigning their lanes, yet remaining competitive and sometimes even superior to the union companies in terms of service.

I'm sure you are right to a great extent. And believe me I would love to be making full pay right now instead of 75%.But I strongly feel that nobody should come into a good job (and these LTL jobs are good) starting at top pay.I fell it is a slap in the face to anyone who has gone thru it.The Union is partly about paying your dues the pay scales are part of the sweat equity you put into paying those dues.
