I know I'm gonna take some shiet from you guys, but I think the 25 and 30 and out at any age is one reason why the pension funds are hurting.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to do 25 or 30 at any age, but I also want my pension fund to be strong enough to provide me those $$ for me and my wife until I pass. We must realize the funds are working to provide retirement checks for everyone. What looks good today, may not cover everyone in the long run. That's the way they look at it.
I'm not able to do it now (putting kids through school) but I am looking at putting some cash aside for my own retirement, besides Central States.
Just my opinion. DS.

DS I hear where your coming from but can I ask a couple of personal questions? First how old are you? Second do you think you will be able to do this till your 62? I used to think I was pretty tough but every year it gets harder and the last thing I want to do is spend what little I have left after Big R in a wheel chair. And if we have to go your route what do you think that snot nosed super is gonna say when you don't wanna hump a couple hundred cases of books cuz the weather is really bothering your knees today? Now come back and tell me your a 65 year old Arnold Swartchnagger and make me look like a wussy |

We need to get more of the lazy butts off the couch & TURN IN THEIR PROPOSALS & VOTE!!! Its a damn shame when Union Workers can complain, whine & B**ch about whats wrong & when you ask them how they voted, they say "I didn't, it don't do any good anyways". Less than half voted on the last NMFA & everyone B**ches how bad a contract we have. Don't vote, Don't B**ch ought to be this contracts motto. We need more people voting, PERIOD.
NO MORE CUTS IN OUR H & W.... If our H & W isn't up to par, get it there!! & after we vote no more cuts, DON'T CUT IT!!! Our petty raises in the last contract were, annihilated by the H & W debacle.
The two-tier pay will always be apart of the contract & it s not just the company that wants it. There are a bunch of drivers that still believe that this type of tier pay is associated with their seniority rights & in someway it is. I personaly could care or less if a drivers comes in @ full pay, it would probably help us. No more giving the better runs to 80% guys, these workers would be more apt to run legal, & they might get more involved in Union activity. We can't keep stomping on the less senior workers & expect them to be there when we're trying to make a strong impact, its not going to work.
We need to get rid of these phony Grievence proceedings & get some that will work! Our state grievences are only as good as the mood the Company & Union are in on that day, & thats not what they were intended for. The companies use to hate going to state hearings, & now they are all good friends (Union & Company). You can't get a fair grievence hearing if both parties have been there for 2-3 days partying with each other. I know this post won't make all happy, but your grievences are pretty much decided on way before you get there. The state grievence boards have had a pretty good run for awhile, maybe its time we change some personnel representing us.
