There doesn't have to be a strike to vote it down. Send them back to the table to get what you want. Everything can be retroactive.

I have said this before, in other old posts, but until the Health care issues are resolved in the country, we can't expect any company or corporation to continue paying the escalated costs we all see each time we go to the doctor or stop to pick up our meds.
Until our government steps up to the plate and provides some type of relief for the medical / health care cost issues, we will all be looking are some type of increase to help pay for those costs, either with less of a "wage" increase or outright payments towards the coverage itself.
My opinion, we won't ever see another strike. With all the non's breathing down our throats it would be a financial disaster to shut down what is left of the union companies.

Hey flstc2000 the last thing we need is government getting involved in the healthcare industry. How about we as citizens of the greatest country on earth ,by the grace of GOD, stop running to the Dr. every time we get the sniffles. Not to mention all the free health care all of the illegal immigrants and penitentiary inmates get. How come we don't scream about stopping those two things there to cut cost in healthcare instead of looking to the government for help. Less government more power to the people!!

Shotgun : I don't have a problem stopping the free health care give-away to illegals and non-citizens. But exactly how would you attempt to stop health care to prison inmates ? At some point disease would run rampant though those systems, affecting not only inmates but guards and anyone else working or visiting. Can you say " epidemic " just waiting to happen.
As for not running to the doctor every time you get the sniffles, just what does that have to do with the staggering increases in health care costs ? Are you really in denial that health care costs in this country have gone up more then 50%, and who exactly is benefiting from those increases ? ( Has your income increased 50% in the recent years ? )Are just the doctors and nurses reaping these huge cost increases ? Perhaps it's the greedy corporations ( much the same as the oil giants ) who are taking all they can get because the political lobby groups that support the health care industry have bought the politicans which have changed policy and laws to benefit the mega-corporations while we in the working class pay all the bills.
Just a few thoughts .... but really you need to look beyond just going to the doctor for all the problems which have caused this industry to spiral it's costs and profits to the moon. My opinion, it's just plain old corporate greed !

Would any of you who went through the Teamster strike in 1994 really want to do that again?
