The one I hear the most is " I'm not paying anyone for a job". I also hear the one about "I'm not gonna suffer for 2 or 3 years" to which I say " you can suffer for the 2 or 3 years or suffer for the rest of your life".

Suffer what? Working your way up the ladder like everyone else? Not everybody can start at the top.

What I mean by suffer is this. A guy I know is working for Werner and he makes about 30cpm. He could have started at Yellow at about 37 to 40cpm ,but, the first couple of years you won't work alot and most likely will be laid-off at winter/slow times. So he did not want to suffer slow times where you might not get a paycheck, but , as I say , you can suffer a couple of years until you gain enough seniority to get a big paycheck every week or as in his case you can suffer the small paycheck for the rest of your life.

I like it when they say (i only pay fifty dollars a week for my insurance).Then i say my insurance is free and my dues are only fifty six dollars a MONTH.

favorite Overnite excuse...."I'm not paying $55 a WEEK to have a job". Unbelievable amout of them thought we paided weekly dues
