Unfortunately, thats not very realistic in the world today. What should have been done was an analysis of where the company can save money, without taking away our jobs.
For example, How many times have you sat on time waiting for a hook or power. If you were able to go hook yourself, when the yard was understaffed, due to unforseen events Things like this, that waste money in the system. Eliminating these, should be the goal of the contract.
Establishing teamster sleeper teams for longhaul freight w/meets in say Kansas City. An east coast team can turn it and meet w/a west coast team to finish delivery. Out 4 in 3or something like that.
Those are what the contract should have addressed.
