Pre Vote Contract Changes Still a NO VOTE Just received pre-vote contract changes in mail.
They specifically address allowed usage of Utility Drivers, $14 casuals, intermodal and wage progression.
The biggest weakness seems to be the intermodal/shiny wheel sellout now. Union essentially ADMITS YRC will use NON-UNION carriers, though they have been trying to deny somewhat. Still doesn't require YRC to appoint the company, so they can still run the 4% and 26%. This will still eliminate many truckload linehaul positions and put linehaul drivers on layoff out of work.
If you read some of my prior posts, I told you this would be the next step. YRC has been proactive on trying to divide the brothers, probably so there is no time for us to discuss and lobby before we vote.
Brothers, I've been yelling away in 5 forums, backing myself as well as all of you. I will still probably lose my job over this, even though many of you non linehaul guys and more senior linehaul drivers will be secure with the changes. Give me the same support I've been showing you. Hold the line until they fix the shiny wheel provision. If they say I have to run a sleeper to keep my job, I would. Give me that oppurtunity. Don't give my job to YRC Logistics or a Swift driver.
Moving freight from the rail to outsourcing, will eliminate linehaul positions from point of origin to hub and from hub to rail. It will also eliminate rail pickup for a local guy on the other end. It won't just eliminate rail miles.
HELP ME SAVE MY JOB and those of my fellow LINEHAUL BROTHERS with lower years of seniority. Call all your friends back, tell them this is still a NO GO!!! Don't take the bait, we can have a good contract for everyone!!!
Vote NO!!!
(Help save Flattops job to!!!)
