Nice link Mustache. Makes you wonder how people once lived with that kind of resolve. I'm sure you remember alot about that era. It makes me wonder how we've gone from people who were willing to suffer to establish a point and those now who just throw up their arms in despare and feel powerless. The people voting for this contract because they are afraid of losing their job don't seem to realize this contract opens the door for them to lose their job.
I have to deal w/teachers and administrators every year, because my children have been taught they have certain rights as do others. When my kids get a punishment at school, it usually results in an additional punishment at home, if they were wrong or a meeting at school because they were right. My teenage daughter told me once she was acting up because she wanted to punish me back. I told her she was correct, I am hard on her and was going to continue being so, because I love her. Because I love her, I want her to be prepared to fight the battles life was going to present her. I told her if she wanted to punish me, she had the power to punish me bad. I told her if she got good grades and went to college, it was going to cost me more than $100,000. That was the most expensive thing she could do to punish me.
