And on through your ramblings you incorrectly state that 4000 members of Roadway are on layoff which is I believe is untrue as that number has been stated for the entire YRC. And now you want to blame the terminal closings that were announced long before the balloting was counted as being because of the vote instead of business decisions such as losing over $638,000,000 last year. Finally from the silent "thinking" majority that approved this contract and as you say urinated all over ourselves and will have to live with it. We will, but please do US a favor, refuse to live with it, leave such a terrible organization, and have a nice life! | Guess all 12000 of us that voted no are non-thinking idiots. You are correct that the closing was announced before the count but after any out standing ballots could have made it to Maryland before the deadline. But why tell the whole story to us non-thinkers? Seems if we don't agree with your point of view we must be Tdu. If thats all you got to argue your argument sounds like something from grade school. Kinda like your mother wears combat boots. I got 29 years as a Teamster and I really don't think that a condecending attitude from you will change how I view things. I did'nt check to be sure but my guess is you spend time on the other Teamster forum but because of posts such as yours I don't go there anymore. If I'm correct please take it back there as you have plenty to keep you company. Maybe I'm being unfair but I looked at your profile and I hope your not really a BA. I pity the member that doesn't agree with you but needs representation. Right now it sounds like he would'nt have a snow balls chance of getting it.

You couldn't be more wrong on this one. I'm sure TT will see this at some point and reply....he's usually too busy defending workers to devote much time here....but I can assure you that he's been a BA and a Local Officer for many years and we in STL are glad to have him in that position.
PS.....I don't think he likes the Roadway Spy too much......but I'm sure he doesn't regard all the no voters as TDU members.

Glad you are proud off him and happy with the job he does as that is whats important. In several post he has come across to me as arogant and condecending if we did not agree with the contract or vote. I have heard all through out my career if you don't like it quit, if you don't agree your part of Tdu, you got your head in your arse. If i needed my intelligance insulted I know what forum to go to. Would.nt be surprised to see him point out all ones misspelling rather than try to make his point. And one last thing. MY MOTHER DOES NOT WEAR COMBAT BOOTS.

Obviously, they are all buying low, (Dollar Bill included) and waiting for the share prices to go up again. And if they are doing this, then obviously, they know something we don't. Paper losses can actually work in favor of the company. Write off's on equipment and properties, showing less value than the company really is worth, saves money on taxes, and when they all of a sudden show a miraculous recovery, or performance higher than projected forcasts, the stock will soar and soar quickly, making huge profits for those that were able to buy shares when prices were low.
If i had $16,000 to buy 1000 shares and the price jumped back up to $30/share, that would be a $14,000 profit. Now just imagine what happens to the people that are buying 100's of thousands of shares or even millions of shares? Why is it that Dollar Bill makes as much in his stock options, if not more than his salary each year?????? | That is one of several scenarios that could possibly happen but one must remember that the chairman of the board has a main responsibility to providing the stockholders (not just himself) with value, otherwise every company would just lower their value as you explain. Their is a considered risk involved also that a liquidator does not buy the company at half value and make a fortune which has been the fate of many trucking companies in the past. Also, though I'm certainly no expert, I think the main reason this probably hasn't happened is because YRC has between $600,000,000 and $700,000,000 worth of pension liability to Central States funds. As you know, trucking companies (especially union) are usually not a prime target of speculators due to them generally being non or slow growth industries. |

I also checked your previous posts and easily saw that you are a very negative poster (surprise, surprise) and I certainly wouldn't waste my time trying to convince you of anything but you can count on one thing if you needed to be represented, even though I may not personally agree with you, it WOULD happen, though I wouldn't expect you to understand. I don't havethe time to post a lot as some however when I see items that I believe are incorrect and misleading, I feel the need to provide the other side of the story so to speak and yes I DO believe in the majority rule, it's called democracy. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
