Wilmington police officers and the city have agreed on a new three-year contract.Mayor James Baker and police union president George Collins say the contract includes a 2.5 percent pay raise in the first year, 2 percent the second year and 2.5 percent the third year.
The agreement also increases the payout for unused sick time at retirement and increases dental coverage.
City officials say the agreement with the police union is retroactive to July 1, 2007 and will be in effect through June 30, 2010.
