Yes all of my Teamster service years were at local #118.
When I received that Pension packet from the Syracuse office it had New Jersey on it as well as many locals in New York State.
Ok I just took it out of my files, and will post some of it now.
The letter has the Participating Teamser Locals listed.
They are 118 Rochester NY, 182 Utica NY,264 Cheektowaga NY,294 Albany NY,317 Syracuse NY,375 Buffalo NY,479 Buffalo NY,478 Union NJ,529 Elmira,NY,687 Potsdam NY,693 Binghamton NY,and 812 Scarssdale NY.
Well I asked around town to other local Teamster drivers, and warehouse workers I know only 2 other guys said they even received this letter, and summary packet.
The rest didn't have a clue of what I was talking about.
Or if they did they acted like they didn't know anything.
I went ahead and called the Syracuse office thats where it came from.
They told me not to worry about it.
this is something the government requires them to send to everyone who is going to draw out of the fund.
So I guess I'm just going to take their advice and not worry about it.
I kinda do find it a bit odd that nobody else seemed to know anything about this?
The cover letter first statement states.
Dear Participant:
The U.S.Department of Labor requires all multiemployer pension plans to provide participants with an annual funding notice.
and it goes on with a lot of other stuff that I won't boar you with.
It also seems a bit odd to me that theres one NJ city in our NY plan?
Well thats that case closed nothing more has to be said about this issue as far as I'm concerned.
