Post Strike temporarily averted at key GM transmission plant
A strike deadline passed Friday at a transmission plant vitally important to General Motors Corp.'s automaking operation with union workers remaining on the job as both sides agreed to keep bargaining.Members of the United Auto Workers Local 909 at the Warren powertrain plant had set a 10 a.m. deadline to leave their jobs in a local contract dispute.
