union dues

wake up members. the only reason our so called union is allowing UPS to check out of the pension plans and ups freight (overnight) (and others to come in at rates substandard) is the almighty union dues. as long as we pay them that is all they care about....i'm starting to get restless and I think Jimmy Hoffa is rolling around in his grave right now to see what his son is doing to us.

I am not happy with the way things seem to be going, but with "globalization" I guess I couldn't expect too much. I think Yellow and Roadway (YRCW) will make a full merge sooner or later, which isn't going to be very good for many of us.

I do believe a merger is getting closer. I understand there are a lot of salaried jobs being done away with right now. I feel for everyone involved. This is not fun. There are no other ways to do it. This I painfully understand. I just hope things work out for all of us. (Those who are being let go and those who will remain).

As a new member who worked for non-union company, all I can say is that the dues are worth every cent.

24+ years but out on the street now(company folded), never regretted the first penny that I ever paid.
