I just heard some disturbing news today that some "union" drivers were going up and down the road on their radios telling UPS Freight guys that they shouldn't join the union. We make some of the highest wages and best benifits in the industry and we are telling prospective members that it's no good?? I haven't been around that long and as most of you know I don't get in on the political issues on this fourm. But we are talking about helping other workers better themselves and their familys by becoming Teamster members!! I don't understand how a guy driving a truck for $80,000 plus with paid insurance and retirement with seniority rights etc. can do this. Lots of Teamster members, like myself, haven't had to do anything to get the benifits of the Teamsters. I do work with some "old timers" that went through strikes, lockouts, fights, closings to get where they are now.........the UPS freight guys are looking for some help and answers to their questions.....Are we doing all we can to help???
